IDENTIFICATION OF APPROACHES TO TERRITORY DEMINING IN THE FRAMEWORK OF SPATIAL DEVELOPMENT AND POST-WAR ECONOMIC TRANSFORMATION

Abstract

In today's globalized world, research into the various aspects of restoring territories affected by armed conflict is becoming increasingly relevant and important. Interdisciplinary research into demining and the subsequent restoration of Ukrainian territories in the context of the post-war transformation of the national economic system deserves particular attention. In this context, it is necessary to consider the peculiarities of spatial development, which play an important role in the process of reviving the social, economic and environmental potential of such territories. These arguments determine the choice of subject matter, the logic of the presented study and its purpose – to identify and summarize global approaches to demining territories from a conceptual point of view in the context of their spatial development and acceleration of the restoration of Ukraine's territories in the post-conflict period. The author focuses on defining economic approaches to the restoration of territories and identifies five main components in this context, which led to the conclusion that spatial trends in the planning of post-conflict territory restoration are considered fragmentarily. Countries where sustainable development components (mainly social and economic) are actively present do not have practical examples or roadmaps for the formation and implementation of specific measures after demining territories, which would form the basis for planning their restoration and could be extrapolated to Ukrainian practice. The system of conceptual approaches is an original development that contributes to the development of theoretical and applied provisions for improving the economic support for demining territories in Ukraine. The practical contribution of the work is the analysis of the essence of the identified approaches, which is the basis for the further preparation of proposals and recommendations on the selected issues as part of state policy in the field of national security in conditions of war and post-war recovery for state authorities and local self-government bodies. It is emphasized that in this context, Ukraine is currently gaining unique experience, which in the future may become the basis for research in the field of social, economic and environmental restoration of territories in wartime by other countries.
